This past weekend I was honored to preach for the weekend services at my home church, Granger Community Church. We were wrapping up a series called "Naked and Afraid", taking a look at how shame, doubt, and hiding entered our world and what do we do with all that junk now. I had the privilege of wrapping up the series, talking about how we hide our treasure from God and one another.
During the last service of the weekend, I stepped on a frame I was using as an illustration and shattered the glass. I carried on with my message because - what else was I supposed to do?!? At the end of the service, lead pastor, Mark Beeson, came up and did something that blew me away. I was cackling idiot in the first row as he explained what he wanted the people of Granger Community to do in response to my carelessness. It was a deeply profound moment for me and I'm so grateful to Mark for hearing God and obeying. Glad he didn't hide behind his insecurity, doubt, or anything else. ;)
I'd love for you to listen hear and ask yourself and God, "What are your treasures? How are you hiding?"
