Baby Ethiopia's First Shoes

A couple weeks ago we got our first official baby gift - itty bitty, hot pink Converse shoes. They could not be any cuter.

The beautiful package that wrapped these shoes included a note that said this, "We wanted you let you know that as far as we are concerned...We are thrilled beyond belief that you are expecting! We can hardly wait to walk with you as you journey the road to becoming parents."

I read the card to Brian on the phone and sobbed my way through it. This is really happening!

I made this picture the image that pops up when her Daddy calls me. I told Brian that they are going to become a central piece to our kitchen for the next few months because I need to see them.

I need to be reminded that our little girl is out there waiting for us, just like we are waiting for her.

I need to be reminded that all the pain we've gone through these past couple years is healed by the little feet that fill these shoes.

I need to be reminded that every check we write, every paper will fill out, every question we answer, every tear that I cry is for those little feet.

I need to be reminded that one day our home will be filled with her running feet.

I need to be reminded that all we need to do is take one step of faith and obedience at a time.

Maybe that makes me an unbeliever that I need those reminders, but it's what I need today. Thank you Uncle Jarrett, Auntie Jeanne, Elijah, & Gigi for loving our little one with us.
