Women in Youth Ministry Cohort #3

There's something about the mixture of a group of likeminded individuals coming together and the accountability of a trained coach that does wonders for your growth and development as a leader and youth worker. I've learned that journeying with a safe group of peers provides fertile soil for long-lasting change.

Women in youth ministry are the intersection of some of my favorite people: leaders, women, and youth workers. And a coaching cohort through The Youth Cartel's flagship Youth Ministry Coaching Program is a beautiful opportunity for my gifts and background to be used for other women! I've already completed 2 of these specific cohorts, and these women have been transformed as a result of intentionally journeying together for a year. It's been so good, we just have to do another cohort!!

This Whole-Life Coaching Program Focuses on Transformation and Youth Ministry Development.

Being a woman in youth ministry is different and often difficult! It demands unique skills and awareness as we approach the challenges and opportunities due to our gender. More often than not, we are the sole woman in the room, or at least the minority. The pay gap still impacts our profession. Juggling family responsibilities with our ministry calling can be challenging (to say the least!). Our ability as woman to navigate these challenges determine our ability to stay in ministry over the long haul.

This specialized cohort will learn across a scope of subjects focused on leadership development and youth ministry realities in this changing culture. Each component is very intentional and structured to provide encouragement, training, challenge, and transformation.

This cohort provides customized attention to your specific context and needs as a woman in youth ministry.

A Few Details...

This cohort will meet twice face-to-face for 2 full day meetings in Granger, Indiana, meet 4 times online via Google+ Hangout (3 hours each), offer 4 one-on-one coaching calls for 30-minutes each, and a deeply discounted rate to attend the Women in Youth Ministry Campference. The specific dates will be chosen by the group.

  • WHO: 8-10 women from everywhere...and you do not need to be in full time ministry or a point leader. But each women must be in youth ministry in some way. (In fact, we've had multiple cohort participants who are volunteers in youth ministry. Awesome!)

  • CONNECTION: Private Facebook group for ongoing support and interaction.

  • READING: We will read 4-5 books together in a broad range of foci. I believe that Leaders are Readers!

  • CUSTOMIZED NEXT STEPS: Each participant will self-assign homework based on learning and necessary, personalized growth areas.

  • COST: $2250 (+ participant travel costs). We will work with you on payments, if you need it! I have learned "where there's a will, there's a way". You can find out more about how flex we can be HERE.

The transformation you'll experience from the other women and myself will be beyond these bullet points! Here's an endorsement from one of our recent graduates...

Participation in a cohort with The Youth Cartel is an active choice to fully engage in your personal and professional ministry life. It’s choosing to acknowledge the beauty in your life. It’s leaning into the yucky, messy parts that we want to hide. Yes, you’ll learn skills and collect tools to be a better youth pastor, but maybe more importantly, you’ll refine your identity and become a better follower of Jesus.

Our recent grads....we didn't have any fun together ;)

I've personally participated in similar cohorts and it's worth whatever sacrifices and juggling you need to figure out. It's one of the best investments, in my opinion, you can make in your leadership. It has been for me. Conferences and network meetings are great, but they rarely produce the kind of customized, personalized, long-lasting transformation that we require as leaders.

If you're interested in this cohort or a future one, you can learn more about the Youth Ministry Coaching Program HERE (including sample schedules and FAQs), download a brochure HERE, or contact me directly HERE. I'd love to figure this out with you!

Wanna just apply? Complete this YMCP application! Can't wait until to launch this third cohort for women in youth ministry!!

April has been a visionary activist her entire life. She has made it her mission to lead high performing teams and develop leaders in the margins of society while caring for our bodies, mind, and spirit. Secretly, she’s a mix of a total girly girl and a tomboy, and is still crazy about her high school sweetheart, Brian. Together, they co-parent 3 fabulous kiddos and live in Orange County, CA.
