Overwhelmed by Sacrifice

Today we got word from our agency that we are only $1709 away from sending our dossier to Ethiopia!!! We also got an update regarding who's donated to our babies...the English language doesn't contain a word to describe what happened in my soul when I saw the names and amounts given.

We barely can internalize someone's generosity and sacrifice before it happens again...and again...and again. Large and small donations alike, Brian and I have been humbled to the point of tears and shouts of joy by the friends, acquaintances, and family who've stood up to say "YES! We believe in these 2 babies with you!"

In the past 2 1/2 weeks, over $3500 has been donated to bring our babies home! We had no idea! Exclaiming the good news to Brian on the phone today, I blurted out how affirming everyone's donations are to our process. Affirming that we are making the right decision to adopt 2 little ones. Affirming that others are supportive of that decision. Affirming that God's people will rise up to care for orphans. Affirming that our babies are well loved before they enter our home.

We are speechless. We are doing our best to be obedient to what calls us toward, and this community is scaffolding us with courage. "Thank you" is a feeble but full-heart attempt to you.
